Speedrome Announces 2017 Spring Shootout Figure 8

The Home of the World Figure 8 Championship has released an early peek into the 2017 schedule. The Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome made the recent announcement on its Facebook page of a new major event, the Spring Shootout 90-Minute Figure 8, to be held May 25-27, 2017. This latest colossal crossover clash joins the legendary 3-Hour Figure 8 Endurance Race as a destination event for fans and racers alike. The Shootout will pay $10,000 to the winner and begin a new Night before the 500 tradition in Indiana’s capitol. Reaction has already been sensational. More information on this and next season will be on the track’s web site www.speedrome.com later this month.
September 7-9 are the 2017 dates for the $20,000-to-win 41st Annual World Championship 3-Hour Figure 8 Endurance Race. Over the decades, this classic has drawn the best intersection aces from across the country to compete for the win while fans have attended the 180-minute affair from nearly all the continental United States. “I can’t wait for the Spring Shootout and 3-Hour next year”, proclaimed reigning World Figure 8 Champion Austin Tunny. “Having all the greatest drivers together again for a big race is awesome. The fans are going to love it!” Who will make Figure 8 history next year?

The track’s new owner Kevin Garrigus and son Jacob are working hard on preparing for 2017 and beyond. They are fully embracing the past while racing into the bright future of the Speedrome. The upcoming awards banquet will be the place to first here many announcements. Tickets for the banquet are just $30 and available Monday–Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday10am-4pm at Advance Auto Sales located at 5061 Southeastern Avenue. The banquet is Saturday November 19that the Atrium on Indy’s south side.

Indianapolis Speedrome Has New Owner, Kevin Garrigus

One of the oldest auto racing venues in the United States, the historic Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome, is now entering a new era under the ownership of Kevin Garrigus. “I am very proud to own the Speedrome“, stated Mr. Garrigus. “And I am extremely excited about its future. There are 75-years of great history behind us and many more years of motorsports entertainment ahead of us”. The one-fifth mile paved short track located on Indy’s east side is famous for its thrilling Figure 8 racing and intense oval action. Its signature event is the annual World Championship 3-Hour Figure 8 Endurance Race held each September.
The Garrigus family has been a part of the Speedrome fabric for 4 generations. This is a traditional tale for many beginning as a Speedrome child fan through adulthood as a parent and even a grandparent of a fan or driver. That is a big part of why Kevin Garrigus wanted to purchase the Speedrome. In recent years, he has been a track sponsor, multiple team sponsor, car owner, and parent to winning racer Jacob Garrigus. Outside of the Speedrome, he has built several successful businesses with the most recent being Advance Auto Sales.

Kevin and son Jacob, now stepping back from driving, have many exciting plans for the Speedrome. While just making some fine tuning to the great racing, facility upgrades will be high on the priority list. The upcoming awards banquet will be the place to first here many of these announcements. “Big Ed” Bishop Memorial 75 May 7th at Indianapolis Speedrome

The Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome gears up for its first major of the season this Saturday May 7th, the 4th Annual “Big Ed” Bishop Memorial 75-Lap Figure 8. The World Figure 8 Cars look to continue their hot start to 2016 in this extra-distance crossover classic. The night’s events also include competition for the USA Insulation Super Stocks, Pro Compacts, Factory Front Wheel Drives, and the Circle City Pyrotechnics Junior Faskarts. In addition, the evening hosts the yearly Big Wheel races for children 5 and under.

Opening night Figure 8 winner Austin Tunny is the defending champion of the “Big Ed” Bishop Memorial 75. The race salutes the 2010 Speedrome Hall of Fame inductee who was heralded as a strong track supporter that through the years piled up the season championships and major event victories with his vastly talented stable of drivers. There will be a star-studded roster on hand Saturday aiming to add this jewel to their racing resume. Previous event victors include Casey White (2013) and Mark Tunny (2014).

Tickets are just $12 with those ages 6-11 just $6 and 5 and under are free. Racing starts at 7:00PM.

Indianapolis Speedrome Round 2 April 23rd

After a blockbuster opening night at the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome, fans and teams are set for round #2 this Saturday night April 23rd.

The roster for this next spectacular includes the World Figure 8 Cars, USA Insulation Super Stocks, Thundercars, Factory Front Wheel Drives, and the 2016 season debut for the Circle City Pyrotechnics Junior Faskarts.

Tickets are just $12 with those ages 6-11 just $6 and under 5 years old are no charge.

Pit gates open at 3:30pm with spectator gates swinging open at 4:30pm and racing going green at 7pm.

Indianapolis Speedrome VIP July 4th Fireworks Night Tickets on Sale Now

For the 66th year, the Bryant Heating and Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome® celebrate America’s birthday with Fireworks night.  This season’s blast-off extravaganza is set for Wednesday, July 4, 2012. VIP advanced tickets for the Westside Auto front stretch grandstand are just $15.  These are said to be the best seats in the house. Charge by phone at (317) 353-8206.

The racing starts at 7 pm with Circle City Pyrotechnics’ Fireworks launching after dark.  Circle City Pyrotechnics, the title sponsor of the Junior Faskart Chase for the Cup, is the new official fireworks company of the historic fifth-mile track.  The motorsports lineup on July 4th is headlined by a 100-lap Late Model Figure 8. Also on the agenda are Stocks, Roadrunners, Hornets, Hornet Figure 8, Junior Faskarts, and Junior Hornets.
