2011 Indianapolis 500 Day 4 was a cold and the track was pretty quiet, but there’s always something going on. Take a look at our best photos from the day.

2011 Indianapolis 500 Day 4 Top Two
Day Four of the 2011 Indianapolis 500 practice at Indianapolis Motor Speedway consisted of one car, two drivers and thirteen total laps turned due to very cool track conditions and the occasional misty rain.
Marco Andretti bested Mike Conway in Conway’s car, for a “slow” 220.656 mph.
- No. 27 – Marco Andretti @ 220.656 mph
- No.27 – Mike Conway @ 219.910 mph
Let’s hope the rain holds off tomorrow so we can get a few more cars out on the track as temperatures are supposed to be around 10 degrees warmer.

May Indy Tweetup 2011
After an extremely successful event in 2010, the much-anticipated second annual May Indy Tweetup will take place on Thursday, May 26, 2011 in the Racing Capital of the World. May Indy Tweetup is also proud to partner with non-profit corporation Racing for Cancer to present the first #Beatcancer Bash.
May Indy Tweetup is the second of two successful biannual IndyCar-related events based around social media. Founded in 2009 by Elizabeth Lenzi and Monica Hilton, May Indy Tweetup and its off-season counterpart Winter Indy Tweetup have grown exponentially into exciting, dynamic events that have attracted guests from all over the US and Canada, and have garnered support from race teams, drivers, the IndyCar series, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and several local Indianapolis businesses.
“This year, the format has changed a little,” says Hilton. “Instead of hosting several events throughout the weekend like we’ve done with our previous Tweetups, we’ve decided to condense everything into one action-packed day. The new schedule helps us to promote other events on the IndyCar calendar as well.”
The event schedule includes an exclusive social media event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and a grand prix style go-kart race sponsored by local ceiling fan company and longtime Tweetup partner Fanimation. The day will conclude with the #Beatcancer Bash, a fun-filled event featuring live music, a silent auction with rare racing memorabilia, plenty of food, giveaways from some IndyCar sponsors, and opportunities to meet and mingle with drivers from the IndyCar, Indy Lights, and other supporting racing series. Proceeds from the #Beatcancer Bash will go to support Racing for Cancer and local Indianapolis organization Little Red Door Cancer Agency.
“It’s wonderful to be able to use the support we’ve gained from our Tweetups to help spread the message of a great organization that shares our passion for IndyCar,” says Lenzi. “The #Beatcancer Bash will be a truly one-of-a-kind evening that we hope to share with both seasoned race fans and those new to the sport.”
Complete event details and ticket information can be found on the May Indy Tweetup website at www.mayindytweetup.com.

Naptown Buzz #24
On this episode of Naptown Buzz, your source for all things Indy, Mel McMahon & Brian Groce hit Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Indy 500 Opening Day morning/early afternoon activity.
We managed to snag Pippa Mann for a quick interview, but pulled a “Stanger” and didn’t get it recorded (doh!!!). But never fear, Mel did a good recap of the interview.
Now that the rain delay is over I shall head back outside to see what happy hour brings us today. More Indy 500 coverage to come!!!
