Indianapolis, IN – The Indiana State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday, June 13th around 4:00 p.m. on I-465 near Emerson Avenue. A blue 2001 Dodge pickup truck was driving eastbound when it was struck by a bullet fired from a newer white Chevrolet Malibu.

After speaking with the victim and one witness, police believe the Dodge was displaying an American Flag as well as a “Make America Great Again” flag in the bed of the truck. A white 4-door passenger car with Louisiana license plates pulled up next to the truck, a black male passenger held a handgun out the window and fired several shots toward the Dodge. Fortunately, none of those bullets struck the driver. The driver of the Malibu was described as a black male approximately 23 years old and the passenger was described as a light-skinned black male with a “sleeve” tattoo on his right arm. The passenger allegedly fired several rounds.

Anthony Jones, 25, Arrested in Connection to May 22 Sexual Assaults Downtown

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Sex Crime detectives announced the apprehension of wanted suspect, 25-year-old Anthony Jones, for two incidents involving sexual assault, that occurred on May 22, 2017, in the downtown Indianapolis area.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office located Jones during a traffic stop just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Jones was immediately taken into custody on an active warrant for the incidents that occurred on May 22, 2017. He was later transported to the Arrestee Processing Center for booking.
The IMPD would like to thank the MCSO for their efforts in locating and arresting Jones. The IMPD would also like to thank our Media Partners and Community members for raising awareness and their efforts. Thank you!

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Sex Crime detectives have identified 25-year-old Anthony Jones, as wanted in connection with two alleged sexual battery cases that occurred in the downtown Indianapolis area on 05/22/2017.

Just after 9 a.m. on 05/22/2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 400 block of E Market St on reports of a sexual battery that had just occurred. Responding officers met with the female victim who stated that she had been inappropriately touched by a male suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Anthony Jones, while going to her residence. The suspect had fled the area after the alleged incident.

Just before 11 a.m. on 05/22/2017, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 100 block of N New Jersey St on reports of a sexual assault. Responding officers met with the female victim who advised that she had been sexually assaulted. The suspect fled the area after the incident.
Sex Crime detectives began aggressively investigating and found the two cases to be related. After gathering sufficient evidence, detectives and the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office filed for a warrant and which was granted. The charges on the warrant range from intimidation to rape. If you see the suspect, do not approach, dial 911 immediately.
