Doomsday failed to materialize on December 21, 2012, but Boxing Day on December 26th is packing quite a punch.
At Indianapolis International Airport 7.3 inches of snow had been measured through 1 pm Wednesday, with spots in Central Indiana having up to a foot of snow already.
As of 3:05PM the Blizzard Warning had been canceled and a Winter Weather Advisory was put in place until 7PM. Blowing and drifting will continue until 7PM. Snow should end completely by 9PM. Wind chills are expected to reach 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit.
Most businesses in the area were closed by noon Wednesday, and dangerous road conditions have lead numerous accidents. If you don’t have to go out, it’s advised that you stay put until Thursday.
INDIANAPOLIS TRASH PICKUP
Trash pickup, already pushed back due to Christmas Day, was pushed back again two more days, with Tuesday and Wednesday routes being canceled all together this week.
This week’s Thursday trash will be picked up on Friday and Friday’s trash will be picked up on Saturday.
Tuesday’s pickup will be pushed back to Wednesday, January 2nd and Wednesday’s pickup will be pushed back to Thursday, January 3rd due to New Year’s Day. Both will be double pickups. Thursday and Friday routes will be a day behind next week as well.
