Experience the Holiday Season’s Softer Side in Brown County

This year, make the holidays extra special for the entire family, by planning a trip to magical Brown County. Christmas in Brown County features a variety of old-fashioned delights. The quaint Village of Nashville twinkles with holiday lights. Festive songs fill the air from carolers decked out in Victorian costumes. Artisan galleries, craft studios, shops, and boutiques beckon shoppers. Board the Little Nashville Express Train for a fun and free ride, and discover picturesque photo opportunities throughout town.

The special Christmas in Brown County Kick-Off Weekend is November 29 – December 1 and includes visits with Santa and his elves, strolling carolers, free rides on the Little Nashville Express Train, a live nativity scene, and more! On November 29, help us welcome Santa to town at the Visitors Center Holiday Open House located on the Visitors Center Patio, where we’ll celebrate with hot chocolate, cookies, caroling and the official lighting of Santa’s tree.

Fun holiday activities happen every weekend. From face painting with Santa, a Christmas Light Parade, and extraordinary gingerbread creations to holiday shows, sing-a-longs and victorian candlelight dinners, you’re sure to find a unique and fun activity for everyone in the family! Experience the holiday season’s softer side. The holidays in Brown County are a world away from the usual dizzying pace of the season. It’s spirited festivity and much-needed serenity all wrapped up into a perfect gift. It’s magical. It’s enchanting. It’s all just a short sleigh ride away from YOU!

Holiday Events include:

Create it with Gingerbread Competition & Exhibit: November 24 – December 14
This exhibit pays tribute to the log cabins of Brown County while challenging participants to combine their culinary skills with architectural design to create extraordinary works of art.
8am-11pm daily. Location: Brown County Inn

Little Nashville Express Train Rides: November 23 – December 14
See the Village! Board the Express Train for a fun and free ride. November 23-24, 29-30: 12 noon – 7pm; December 1: 12 noon – 5pm; December 7, 14: 12 noon – 6pm

Visitors Center Holiday Open House: November 29
Join the Visitors Center as they welcome Santa and kick off the holiday season by lighting up Santa’s Tree. Free hot chocolate and cookies. Open House and visits with Santa 2pm-6pm
Location: Visitors Center Patio

Santa Sightings: November 29 – December 1
Bring the family and your Christmas list and visit with Santa! He’ll be in town the weekend of Thanksgiving. Friday 2pm – 6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm; Sunday 12pm-4pm.
Location: Visitors Center Patio

Strolling Carolers: November 29 – December 1
Enjoy a holiday song from strolling carolers in the Village. Friday 2pm – 6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm; Sunday 12pm-4pm.

Live Nativity Scene: November 30
Enjoy live nativity scenes throughout the Village of Nashville from 1pm – 3pm. Final scenes will end at the corner of Mound Street and North Van Buren Street by the Holly Shop.
