ISP Looking for Ford Pickup in Hit and Run near Noble/DeKalb County

July 6, 2017 by Naptown Buzz

Indiana State Police sent this bulletin at 07/06/2017 08:04 AM EDT

Noble County, IN – The Indiana State Police are investigating a hit and run crash which occurred early this morning outside of Avilla involving an adult female bicyclist and police searching for a full-sized Ford pickup truck.

Preliminary investigation conducted by Trooper John Silver indicated at approximately 6:50 a.m., a dark gray or charcoal colored Ford pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Baseline Road near County Road 1100 E, which is one mile west of the Noble/DeKalb County Line. The vehicle purportedly side-swiped a bicycle ridden by a 42 year old female from Avilla and continued eastbound towards DeKalb County.

The truck is reported as being full-sized, extended cab with a tool box in the rear and a lift kit which has it sitting higher than a normal full-sized truck. The passenger side mirror is missing, but the mirror assembly was still attached. The bicyclist was not injured.

Silver is asking anyone with information about the truck and/or its driver to contact the State Police Post in Fort Wayne at either (260) 432-8661 or (800) 552-0976.

All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law.
