Following the high-stakes drama of Qualifying Weekend, the field for the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge returns to the track on Monday, May 18. This session allows teams to transition from raw qualifying speed back into race trim as they prepare for the grueling 500-mile journey ahead.
Monday practice is historically one of the most relaxed days at the track, offering a great chance to see the full field of 33 cars in a more intimate setting before the crowds arrive for Carb Day and the race.
Monday’s Track Schedule
The track will be open for a two-hour window in the afternoon, giving drivers time to work on their race setups and practice running in heavy traffic.
- 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Public Gates Open
- 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Indianapolis 500 Practice
