Following the high-stakes drama of Qualifying Weekend, the field for the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge returns to the track on Monday, May 18. This session allows teams to transition from raw qualifying speed back into race trim as they prepare for the grueling 500-mile journey ahead.

Monday practice is historically one of the most relaxed days at the track, offering a great chance to see the full field of 33 cars in a more intimate setting before the crowds arrive for Carb Day and the race.

Monday’s Track Schedule

The track will be open for a two-hour window in the afternoon, giving drivers time to work on their race setups and practice running in heavy traffic.

  • 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Public Gates Open
  • 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Indianapolis 500 Practice

Tickets and Admission

General Admission tickets for Monday are $25. Your GA ticket provides the flexibility to explore different viewing angles, from the famous infield mounds to first-come, first-served grandstand seating.

  • Family Value: Children 15 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.

Gates and Parking

Please note that gate access and parking locations are more limited on Monday than during Qualifying Weekend:

  • Public Gates: Gates 2, 4, 6S, 7, 7S, 10, and 10A will be open for entry.
  • Parking: Free parking is available in the N Lot.
  • Specialty Parking: Free motorcycle parking is located in the South Carousel Lot. Free ADA-accessible parking is available in the West Museum, Flag, and Tower Terrace lots.

Cashless Venue Reminder

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a cashless facility. Be prepared to use credit cards, debit cards, or tap-to-pay for all transactions, including tickets, concessions, and merchandise. If you only have cash, a Cash-to-Card machine is available in Pagoda Plaza to convert your paper currency into a temporary debit card.

IMS Museum

The IMS Museum is open Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors (55+), and $18 for military personnel. Remember that track gate admission is required in addition to your museum ticket.
