The intensity is dialled up another notch this Thursday, May 14, as teams enter the critical middle stretch of practice for the 110th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. With Qualifying Weekend looming, Thursday often sees teams shifting focus from race trim to finding the raw speed needed to secure a spot on the grid.
For fans, Thursday offers the perfect balance of high-speed action and the freedom to explore the historic grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway without the race-day crowds.
Thursday Track Schedule
Track activity remains consistent, giving drivers six full hours to master the 2.5-mile oval.
- 10 a.m.: Public Gates Open

Tickets and Admission
General Admission tickets are $25. It is the best way to experience the sensory assault of an Indy car from multiple angles.

Make your arrival easy by noting the following gate and parking locations:
- Public Gates: Gates 1, 2, 4, 6S, 7, 7S, 10, and 10A will be open for entry.

Cashless Venue Reminder
Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a cashless facility. All purchases of tickets, concessions, and merchandise require a credit card, debit card, or tap-to-pay (such as Apple Pay or Google Pay). If you only have cash on hand, head to the Pagoda Plaza, where a Cash-to-Card machine can convert your paper currency into a temporary debit card.
IMS Museum
The IMS Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $25 for adults, $23 for seniors (55+), and $18 for military personnel. You can skip the lines by purchasing tickets in advance at imsmuseum.org.
