The preparations for the 110th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge intensify on Wednesday, May 13, as the field returns to the oval for another six hours of critical track time. With the initial shakedowns complete, Wednesday is all about fine-tuning race setups and finding extra speed in traffic.

Whether you are sneaking away from the office for a long lunch or bringing the family out for an afternoon at the Brickyard, the atmosphere at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway remains one of the best deals in sports.

Wednesday’s Track Schedule

Fans can enjoy a full day of action as teams work through their practice programs from noon until the 6 p.m. gun.

  • 10 a.m.: Public Gates Open
  • Noon – 6 p.m.: Practice (All Cars)

Tickets and Viewing

General Admission tickets are available for $25. One of the best ways to experience a practice day is to take advantage of the open seating policy. Your ticket allows you to scout different vantage points, from the grassy mounds in the infield to select grandstands, giving you a 360-degree perspective of the speed.

  • Free Admission: Children 15 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Logistics: Parking and Payments

To ensure a smooth trip to the track, please keep these operational details in mind:

  • Free Parking: Public parking is free in the IMS Infield (Turn 3) and Lot 7 (North 40), accessible via Gate 10 from 30th Street. ADA-accessible and motorcycle parking are also available at no cost in designated areas.
  • Go Cashless: Remember that IMS is a cashless facility. All transactions for tickets, concessions, and merchandise must be made via credit card, debit card, or tap-to-pay. For those carrying cash, a Cash-to-Card machine is located in Pagoda Plaza to convert paper money into a usable debit card.
  • Visit the Museum: The IMS Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, with discounts available for seniors and military members.
