WHAT…A brief period of sleet and freezing rain followed by heavy snow is expected. Total snow accumulations in excess of 7 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
WHERE…Portions of central, east-central, and west-central Indiana.
WHEN…From 7 AM this morning to 1 AM EST Friday.
IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

This hazardous weather outlook is for much of the northern half of central Indiana.
DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.
A winter storm will begin across the area today as rain changes to a wintry mix and then snow. Mainly snow is expected tonight. Travel will become difficult to potentially impossible.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday.
The winter storm will continue on Thursday with snow and perhaps some blowing snow. Travel will continue to be difficult to potentially impossible.
Rainfall amounts prior to the transition to wintry precipitation may produce flooding along area streams and rivers late in the week and into the weekend.
Cold air late this week and early this weekend could bring wind chills near 10 below zero.

Today: Rain. Temperature falling to around 35 by 5pm. Southeast wind 5 to 11 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Tonight: Snow, freezing rain, and sleet becoming all snow after 9pm. Low around 22. North northeast wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation is expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Thursday: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow before 1pm. High near 24. North northeast wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches is possible.
