ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (April 1, 2025) – Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) has named Jay Frye as team president, effective immediately. Frye, a motorsport veteran with over 30 years of experience, will oversee RLL’s operations in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, reporting to team co-owners Bobby Rahal, David Letterman, and Michael Lanigan.
Frye steps in as Steve Eriksen departs from his role as chief operating officer, a position he held since January 2023. “I’d like to thank Steve for his contributions and wish him well,” said Bobby Rahal. “Jay’s leadership and passion for racing make him a perfect fit to elevate RLL.”
“RLL has a rich history of success,” Frye added. I’m excited to join this talented team and build on its strong foundation.”
Most recently INDYCAR president until February 2025, Frye introduced innovations like the aeroscreen safety feature and secured major partnerships with NTT, Chevrolet, and Honda. His tenure saw record-breaking moments, including the 2024 Indy 500’s fastest pole speed.
RLL’s next race weekend is set for April 12-13, 2025, at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Visit rahal.com for more team updates.
