The 109th Indianapolis 500 (ad) presented by Gainbridge is gearing up, and fans can catch the action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (ad) (IMS) on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Here’s everything you need to know about the practice sessions, ticket prices, parking, and additional amenities for an unforgettable day at IMS.

Practice Schedule for May 13, 2025

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host practice sessions and refresher tests for the Indy 500 (ad). Below is the detailed schedule (all times local):

  • 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.: Public gates open
  • Noon – 2 p.m.: Practice (all cars)
  • 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Indianapolis 500 Refresher Tests (if needed, two hours)
  • 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Practice (all cars, may start earlier depending on Refresher Test status)

This schedule offers fans ample opportunity to watch drivers fine-tune their cars for the iconic race. Be sure to arrive early to secure the best viewing spots!

Ticket Information

General Admission Tickets: Priced at $25, these tickets provide access to IMS infield viewing mounds and first-come, first-served grandstand seating for multiple vantage points around the track.

How to Purchase: Tickets can be purchased online at IMS.com or at the gate. Plan ahead to avoid long lines and ensure your spot at this thrilling event.

Gates open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the following locations:

Parking at IMS

  • Free Public Parking: Available in Turn 3 and Lot 7 (North 40).
  • Free Motorcycle Parking: South Carousel Lot.
  • ADA Accessible Parking: West Museum Lot, Flag Lot, Tower Lot, Northwest Gravel Lot, and Lot 7 (North 40).

Cashless Operations at IMS

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway operates as a cashless facility. Accepted payment methods include:

  • Debit or credit cards
  • Tap-to-pay phone payments

For those with cash, Cash-to-Card machines are available at:

  • IMS Museum
  • Pagoda Plaza
  • Outside Turn 1 near concessions stand 7

These machines convert cash into a temporary debit card, usable inside and outside the venue, as well as online, anywhere Mastercard/Visa debit cards are accepted.
