INDIANAPOLIS – Marion County hospitals will implement temporary visitor restrictions starting the week of December 22, 2025.
These measures, part of the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety’s policy, aim to protect vulnerable patients and staff.
Key restrictions:
- No visitors with symptoms of illness (e.g., fever, cough, headache, muscle/joint pain, sore throat, or runny nose).
- No visitors under age 18 (exceptions may apply at some facilities).
Visitors should check hospital websites or call ahead for specific details, start dates, and exceptions.
Participating hospitals: Community Health Network, Franciscan Health Indianapolis, Ascension St. Vincent, Indiana University Health, and Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital.
Common-sense precautions—such as staying home when sick, washing hands frequently, and covering coughs and sneezes—are encouraged.
The Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety includes leaders from local health systems, the Indiana Hospital Association, the Indiana Department of Health, and the Marion County Public Health Department.
