The 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge takes center stage on Sunday, May 24. If you are heading to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway or tuning in from home, here is the complete operational guide and track schedule you need to know.

Critical Track Updates: What is Sold Out

  • Grandstand Seats: All reserved seats are completely SOLD OUT.
  • General Admission: Infield General Admission tickets are available for $65. This allows gate entry but does not include grandstand access or Snake Pit entry. Children 15 and under are free with a GA adult ticket holder.
  • Parking and Camping: All Race Day parking and camping lots are completely SOLD OUT.
  • Snake Pit: General admission wristbands for the infield concert are SOLD OUT. A limited number of VIP wristbands remain available for $240 while supplies last.

Morning Gate Openings & Snake Pit Set Times

  • 5:00 a.m. – INDYCAR Credentials Office opens
  • 6:00 a.m. – Public Gates open (All gates open)
  • 6:00 a.m. – Traditional Race Day Cannon Blast and Track Pyrotechnics
  • 7:00 a.m. – Coors Light Snake Pit Gates open (Infield Turn 3)
  • 8:15 a.m. – Wax Motif begins performance (Snake Pit)
  • 9:00 a.m. – DJ Slater Hogan begins performance (Pagoda Stage 3)
  • 9:15 a.m. – It’s Murph begins performance (Snake Pit)
  • 10:30 a.m. – Crankdat begins performance (Snake Pit)

The Borg-Warner Trophy March to the Bricks

  • 8:55 a.m. – Borg-Warner Trophy March to the Bricks begins
  • 9:05 a.m. – Borg-Warner Trophy reaches Checkpoint 2 (Pagoda Plaza)
  • 9:10 a.m. – Borg-Warner Trophy reaches Checkpoint 3 (IMS Midway)
  • 9:38 a.m. – Borg-Warner Trophy reaches Checkpoint 4 (Band Gate)
  • 10:10 a.m. – Borg-Warner Trophy arrives at the Yard of Bricks

Track Prep, Engine Warm-Ups & Pre-Race Pageantry

  • 9:20 a.m. – All race cars to pit lane
  • 9:20 a.m. – Engine Warm-Up Period #1 begins
  • 10:26 a.m. – “On the Banks of the Wabash” performed by the Purdue University Band
  • 10:36 a.m. – Green Flag Lap Rolls Out
  • 10:37 a.m. – Historic Indy 500 Winners Lap begins
  • 10:43 a.m. – Honorary Starter receives Green Flag from IU Health Patient (Trackside Stage)
  • 10:55 a.m. – All 33 field cars placed on the starting grid
  • 10:59 a.m. – Historic Cars Track Lap
  • 11:25 a.m. – Chevrolet Military Appreciation Lap

Official Pre-Race Ceremonies & Flyovers

  • 11:47 a.m. – Official Driver Introductions begin
  • 12:07 p.m. – U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team begins their descent
  • 12:07 p.m. – “God Bless America” performed by the Indiana National Guard Quartet and Purdue Band (Victory Podium)
  • 12:08 p.m. – Traditional Military March on Pit Lane
  • 12:13 p.m. – Military Address delivered by Lt. Gen. Jonathan Stubbs, U.S. Army (Victory Podium)
  • 12:17 p.m. – Race Invocation delivered by Indianapolis Archbishop Charles Thompson (Trackside Stage)
  • 12:18 p.m. – Rifle Volley and the playing of “Taps” (Victory Podium)
  • 12:20 p.m. – “America the Beautiful” performed by Ephraim Owens (Pylon Stage)
  • 12:24 p.m. – The National Anthem performed by Jordin Sparks
  • 12:26 p.m. – First Flyover: F-16 Jets of the 175th Fighter Wing

The Start Commands & Green Flag

  • 12:33 p.m. – “Drivers to Your Cars” command given by Grand Marshal Caitlin Clark
  • 12:37 p.m. – “Back Home Again in Indiana” performed by Jim Cornelison
  • 12:38 p.m. – Second Flyover: F-16 Jets of the 175th Fighter Wing
  • 12:38 p.m. – “Drivers, Start Your Engines” command given by Roger Penske (Victory Podium)
  • 12:39 p.m. – Special Flyover Lap by the 38th Combat Aviation Brigade, Indiana Army National Guard
  • 12:45 p.m. – Green Flag drops for the 110th Indianapolis 500 by Gainbridge (Honorary Starter Brendan Fraser)

Afternoon Snake Pit Closers

  • 12:50 p.m. – Zedd begins performance (Snake Pit)
  • 2:20 p.m. – Wooli begins performance (Snake Pit)

Cashless Operations at IMS

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a fully cashless facility. Credit cards, debit cards, and tap-to-pay phone systems are required for all ticket, credential, parking, concession, and merchandise purchases.

For fans carrying paper currency, a Cash-to-Card machine is located in Pagoda Plaza. This machine converts cash into a temporary debit card that can be used inside the Speedway, online, or anywhere Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

IMS Museum Hours

The IMS Museum will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Race Day. Admission is $25 for adults, $23 for seniors (55 and over), and $18 for military personnel. A separate track gate admission ticket is required to access the museum. No parking is available at the museum due to the prepaid lots being sold out.
