
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has scheduled a series of lane and ramp closures on I-70 in downtown Indianapolis to facilitate essential pavement repairs. The work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
Weekend Closure Details
The following closures are planned from Friday, June 12, at 9 p.m. through Monday, June 15, at 5 a.m.:
- I-70 Eastbound Reductions: The highway will be reduced to two lanes between Belmont Avenue and Madison Avenue.
- Nightly Restrictions: Brief periods of single-lane traffic are expected between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m. each night.
- Closed Entrance Ramps: Ramps from Harding Street, Missouri Street/West Street, and Madison Avenue to I-70 eastbound will be closed.
- Closed Exit Ramps: I-70 eastbound exits to Harding Street (Exit 78), Missouri Street/West Street (Exit 79A), and Illinois Street/Meridian Street (Exit 79B) will be closed.
INDOT advises drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and exercise extra caution when traveling through work zones. Further pavement repairs are planned throughout June, including significant closures on both I-70 eastbound and westbound scheduled for the weekend of June 19–22.
