Alexander Ferenczy III, 68, of Bloomington, Rescued from Floodwaters
Monday, May 8, 2017, 1:26 PM
Jackson County – Sunday, shortly before 3:00 pm, a trooper from the Indiana State Police as well as officers from three additional agencies worked together to successfully rescue a Bloomington, Indiana man who was trapped in his vehicle that had been swept off the roadway.
Alexander Ferenczy III, age 68, Bloomington, Indiana initially called 9-1-1 to report that his vehicle has stalled in flood waters on County Road 50 North near County Road 950 East in eastern Jackson County. Trp. Christopher Lockman, along with officers from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Crothersville Police Department, and the Indiana Conservation Officers responded to assist. By the time rescuers could arrive, Ferenczy’s 2015 Ford van had been swept off the roadway by the water.
Trp. Lockman, who is a member of the Indiana State Police Department’s Underwater Search and Recovery Team, determined that a water rescue was necessary prior to a rescue boat arriving due to the water rising on the vehicle. Trp. Lockman donned his swift water rescue gear and entered the water while connected to a line that was being manned by the other officers on scene.
Trp. Lockman was able to successfully reach the vehicle that was located approximately 300 feet from dry land. Trp. Lockman was able to attach a personal flotation device to Ferenczy and conducted a water rescue carry of Ferenczy, who was not able to walk due to a prior medical condition. Trp. Lockman, as well as the other officers, removed Ferenczy from the water and began administering first aid. Ferenczy was then transported to Schneck Medical Center by Jackson County EMS for further evaluation.
Trp. Lockman was assisted by Deputy Rob Henley, Reserve Deputies Charlie Murphy and Greg Murphy, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Officer J L McElfresh, Crothersville Police Department, and Conservation Officer Blake Everhart.
The Indiana State Police would like to remind people to avoid driving on roadways that are covered by water. A small amount of moving water is capable of sweeping a heavy vehicle off the roadway. “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”

Gander Mountain is Liquidating in Indy, is NOT Closing All Stores
The Gander Mountain “Going Out Of Business” email hit my inbox Friday evening, which really wasn’t much of a shock. And upon my initial look, it just didn’t have the feel of a truly “store closing” situation. It smelled of marketing and legal agreement.
Take a look at the email below, then let’s get down to the truth of what many in the media are reporting as “store closings”.
As you may know, Gander Mountain has gone through Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and was acquired by Camping World.
Yes, Gander Mountain is liquidating the store inventory. But in typical fashion, many news outlets are taking the marketing of this at face value.
Sure, with all sorts of retailers going the way of the buffalo, I can get why they might just assume this. But for a change, how about we get the TRUE information straight from the horse’s mouth before spouting things off? Such “reporting” will end up sending a company truly out of business if you’re reporting that it’s going out of business.
So how about we listen to the person who is most “in the know” as to what’s going on, Marcus Lemonis, Chairman & CEO of Camping World. Watch as he takes to Periscope to correct what many in the media are reporting.
Please RT and pass this along. @gandermountain update https://t.co/XSKOClah7I

So here’s the gist.
Someone else owns the current Gander Mountain inventory, which they are liquidating chain wide. Once that is complete, Camping World aims to keep 70 stores open, which will be completely restocked.
The Greenwood and Avon stores in the Indianapolis area are slated to STAY OPEN after the liquidation process.

So, yes, SOME Gander Mountain stores will be closing. The locations that were recently announced as closing are most likely staying closed.
And around Indiana, I see that Evansville & Fort Wayne locations are staying open as well.
Store update @GanderMtn #evansvilleIN thanks to the landlord for really engaging and working to save jobs and business. #teamwork

So, bottom line, take everything you see reported by the news with a grain of salt. There’s a chance that they don’t know what they’re talking about.
