4-time Indy 500 winner Al Unser Sr. remembered

Dec 10, 2021 (WTHR) – Al Unser, one of only four drivers to win the Indianapolis 500 a record four times, died Thursday following a long illness. He was 82.

May 2, 2019 (Indianapolis Motor Speedway) – The 73rd Running of the Indianapolis 500 was held on Sunday, May 28, 1989, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Emerson Fittipaldi of Brazil became the first foreign-born winner of the race since 1966. The closing laps of the race proved to be some of the most exciting at the Indianapolis 500 with Al Unser Jr. and Emerson Fittipaldi battling in the final laps.
