When Hell Freezes Over in Indy: WTHR’s “Satan Meet & Greet” Survives the Cold Snap

WTHR13 Satan Meet and Greet 2025

Indianapolis, December 13, 2025 – While the rest of us were shivering under blankets and cursing the polar vortex, Channel 13 decided to crank the heat to infernal levels with the greatest live TV typo in recent memory.

The Demonic Graphic That Broke the Internet

At 6:07 a.m., during the ultra-serious “Events Impacted by Weather” segment on 13Sunrise Weekend, WTHR unleashed this absolute gem:

  • Athenaeum Christkindlmarkt – Closed All Weekend
  • Spark Holidays On The Circle – Moved Indoors This Weekend
  • Satan Meet & Greet 3-6 p.m.

That’s right, folks. Christkindlmarkt tapped out, holiday lights scurried indoors, but the Devil? He apparently stared down the 28° (and plummeting) temps and said, “Cute.”

Social Media Erupts in Infernal Flames

The internet (what’s left of it after freezing rain and snow) exploded into a full-blown lake-of-fire meltdown.

Top reactions included:

  • “Finally, an event warm enough for this weather.”
  • “Satan’s meet-and-greet is indoors? Even hell has standards.”
  • “Priorities: Christkindlmarkt canceled, but the underworld mixer is STILL ON.”
  • “Highway to Hell is plowed, but I-65 is still a parking lot.”
  • “Satan doesn’t cancel for weather. Man’s got a reputation to uphold!”

Just a Glorious Flub (We Think)

Of course, it was just a classic typo—meant to say Santa Meet & Greet. One sneaky letter swap turned jolly old St. Nick into “Old Nick” (the Devil’s folksy nickname), and for one brief, gloriously chaotic moment, Indianapolis looked like the most metal city in America. (Take that, Norway!)

Somewhere in the WTHR control room, a producer is either laughing hysterically or drafting their resignation letter. No official statement yet, but honestly? Keep it. In a weekend full of closed markets, slippery roads, and wind chills that could freeze holy water, we needed the laugh.

Final Warning from Your Local Chaos Reporter

So bundle up, drive safe, and if you spot a suspiciously warm guy in red downtown handing out coal instead of candy canes this afternoon… just smile, wave, and power-walk away.

Hats off (and horns up) to Channel 13 for delivering the one thing hotter than hell this frozen weekend: pure, accidental comedy gold straight from the underworld.
